Coil Winding

Coil winding is the forming of a single filament or multiple filaments in the shape of a helix to function as electrode coils for implantable conductors (including fixation helixes). It is commonly used in catheter applications for tube reinforcement or strain reliefs.

Accellent is constantly investing in advanced coil winding technologies to solve ever-increasing design challenges presented by today's medical device marketplace. Combining coil winding technologies with Accellent's other core competencies—such as wire drawing, laser ablation and coating—allows our customers advanced design flexibility and increased speed to market.
